    @mitu

    I'm also experiencing this. I have the following:

    Pi Model or other hardware: 3B
    Power Supply used: Standard Canakit 2.5A adapter
    RetroPie Version Used: 4.8
    Built From: Raspberry Pi imager, Retropie option
    USB Devices connected: Xbox gamepad (currently having issues with mode and gamepad recognition by ES)
    Controller used: Same
    Error messages received: "VolumeControl::Init() - Failed to find mixer elements!"
    Emulator: All
    How to replicate the problem: Error message appears after selecting any option (ROM or Retropie Config options) from ES

      @jdriscol This is an issue with EmulationStation, not streaming via Twitch. You should have opened a separate topic, instead of piggybacking on an existing one just be cause there's a similar error - I'm splitting this into a separate topic.

      Your issue is most likely due to PulseAudio being installed - disable PulseAudio from the Audio menu in RetroPie and try again. If that doesn't work, post the output of amixer -l.
