AMIGA Emulator - failed to compile
-
Hi everyone,
first time I write and first time I try to setup a machine like raspberry.I own a Pi3 Model B with the latest retropie SD image (4.0.2). I already installed the driver for xbox 360 controller and is working perfect with the wireless receiver. I also installed "Vice" as a optional package to run Commodore64 and it is ok.
Now I just want to install "UAE4ALL" to run Amiga games, and nothing more for now, but I can't get a succesful installation.
I try to install it from source like the other optional packages I mentioned before but after few minutes of installation the screen return to setup menu with a message saying that "failed to compile".
What's wrong?
I tried several times always restarting the machine. I also formatted everything and tried to install the retropie image from the beginning. But the there is nothing to do.
The same happens with "UAE4ARM".I have also another question: why does the wiki mention the emulator "uae4all2" while I have "uae4all" in the image I downloaded?
Many thanks to everyone who can help me!

@Jerno why are you not just installing from binary?
It is uae4all2. Just named uae4all.

There is an issue with uae4all currently due to a file dependency which has moved. so recommend using install from binary. Can advise further with uae4arm if you can provide a log (via pastebin or similar).
[edit] I can confirm a build issue with uae4arm also - likely due to makefile changes - I will sort this - but in the meantime you can use the binary. thanks.

Many thanks for your help!
I just installed them from binary and everything is perfect now!
Can you just tell me how to install some other packages in the future? What is better to do between binary and source?
I think I know the difference by searching the web but I don't know what is better...just in case.
Many thanks again! -
On the Raspberry Pi - if you are unfamiliar with RetroPie always choose binary.
