PS2 Controller losing contact with Retropie
-
Hi,
I have an original PS2 controller which I am connecting to the pie through a USB adapter. The issue is that most of the time the Retropie does not recognize that the controller is plugged in. It does however recognize sometimes which allows me to configure the keys. However, when I try to play it is non respondent.
I have tried to figure out the problem and concluded that the issue is due to reduced power from the USB port. I tried to edit /boot/config.txt to set the max_usb_current=1 without any improvement.
I have the new raspberry pi 3 model and suspect that this does not work with that unit?
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem?
Thanks a lot! appreciate it!

It might be your adapter. If you have another one try it out, or try the adapter on your computer and use that built in config tool in windows (if you have it if your adapter is recognised as an Xbox 360 controller)
Or try the controller itself on a PS2 console if you have one. -
Thanks for your quick reply. That is definately not the answer I was looking for. Just got the adapter shipped from Ebay. But I will try it out on a windows computer to check it out.
