Windows EmulationStation UI Menu no Game List View style option available
-
Hello,
I am in the proccess of trying to setup emulation station on a windows PC with video previews. For some reason my UI Menu does not show option Game List View which would allow me to switch from picture previous to videos. Also, I am using the file structure I had already set on my RPi which I was able to setup with video previous before.
I read in some forums (in retropie) that the link between roms and videos has to do with the gamelist.xml file which includes the info tying up the roms with the videos.
I have identified those on my PC and they seem to get overwritten everytime I run emulationstation. I even tried to set it as read-only to see if that works but nothing!I am using emulationstation from https://emulationstation.org/ . (V2.0.1A)
Theme: ES-THEME-CRT-CENTERED-MASTER - https://github.com/anthonycaccese/es-theme-crt-centered
There was also a mention in an old previous thread about this version maybe not being compatible with video previous? It was suggesting to use this link : https://github.com/jrassa/EmulationStation/releases
But I cant seem to find exactly how I could install that to replace the version I am using.Basically everything works, except I dont have the option in the UI menu where it allows you to switch between simple/detailed/video.
Sorry for the long post, hope you can help me out!

You can use one of the other forks of EmulationStation which provide Windows binaries - RetroBat has an EmulationStation and offers RetroPie-similar setup on Windows or you can use the more recent EmulationStation DE which diverges quite a bit from our fork and the original EmulationStation.
