Control an IKEA Dioder with the Raspberry Pi (turn it into an 'Ambilight')
-
I'm building a Bartop and behind the marquee I have an IKEA dioder:
Right now the LEds turn on when I turn on the Raspberry Pi and it's set in random-rainbow-multicolor-fade-in-out mode.
I'm happy with it just the way it works, but I found that it could be turned into an 'Ambilight', and that'd be pretty cool! So the LEDs would change color according to the colors displayed in the monitor.
Did any of you guys try it? Or know how could it be accomplished? Maybe via the GPIO?
I've seen some tutorials around, but they all involve an Arduino or a thing called BlinkStick.
Also I've that there are plugins or addons for KODI that do exactly that: Hyperion and Boblight.Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks a lot!

Great idea! I've never tried it before but I found this:
redoid - A Node.js package that provides an API to control your IKEA Dioder LED light strip on your Raspberry Pi
