Trying to add Spectravideo system
-
Hello,
I tried to create a new system following the docs and I added this text into the etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg:
<system>
<name>spectravideo</name>
<fullname>Spectravideo</fullname>
<path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/spectravideo</path>
<extension>.cas .rom .mx1 .mx2 .col .dsk .zip .m3u .CAS .ROM .MX1 .MX2 .COL .DSK .ZIP .M3U</extension>
<command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 SYS msx %ROM%</command>
<platform>spectravideo</platform>
<theme>spectravideo</theme>
</system>Watch, as command I gave msx, because if I give spectravideo I get an error. I thought, because I use the lrbluemsx for the msx emulation and it can emulate the Spectravideo.
My questions are: Where can I create a command especially for the Spectravideo, and how can I get the lrbluemsx to emulate Spectravideo by default, because as it is, I have to enter the retroarch menu and change the machine type to Spectravideo, but when I go to load an Msx title then I have to change the machine type back again. How can I have settings that will be used only for the Spectravideo emulation?
Thanks in advance

You don't, you use the same command as for the
msx
, but in a separateconfig/spectravideo/emulators.cfg
folder, as explained in the document. Then you can usespectravideo
instead ofmsx
in the runcommand parameters of the system.and how can I get the lrbluemsx to emulate Spectravideo by default, because as it is, I have to enter the retroarch menu and change the machine type to Spectravideo, but when I go to load an Msx title then I have to change the machine type back again. After you started a game from the
spectravideo
folder, open the core options and set the system as Spectravideo, then save a 'content folder override' so any game started from that folder, with thelr-bluemsx
core, will have that parameter set automatically. -
@mitu I did what you suggested and it worked! Thank you VERY much! Now I imagine I can do the same thing for example with Commodore plus 4, 128 etc in a simillar manner?
-
@Lord-Vek Yes, that should be similar, though if you don't have a lot of ROMs for other system it's easier to just use a collection.
-
@mitu What do you mean by "collection"?

@mitu I see, thanks again!

@mitu Now I want to ask something about Commodore plus/4. Should I open a new thread?

Probably yes, it will make searching easier for any other users to find answers if they may have the same or similar issues in the future.
