Thanks to everyone and their hard work in deving for Retropie on the Pi5! I managed to get Retropie installed and direct boot to EmuStation on the Pi5 manually and love the fact that Tekken 1-3 and Killer Instinct 1-2 play smoothly now. I have an RGB-Pi and Pi2Jamma adapter on two different setups and was wondering if anyone here has had success outputting from the Pi5 to a CGA or jamma adapter? I tried copying the config.txt vga666 stuff from the working pi3b+ and pi4 image but no dice. I realize these are being supported by separate groups from this, but figured I'd ask here too. Am willing to participate in any Beta feedback groups, as I have access to multiple Pi5s. Thanks!

@beudbeud thank you for the information! Sad to hear for the Pi2Jamma adapter owners like me. For the RGB-Pi adapter, I'm hoping they can figure it out because the chance to see Tekken and Ki run smoothly on an actual arcade monitor again is exciting! Retropie should consider making their own Jamma adapter! So many nice features (like downloading other/experimental arcade emulators and versions) that other software makes it challenging to do or figure out.

After lots of research and code copying, I managed to get the Pi5 working on a Jamma hat using the latest Retropie. Unfortunately KI and KI2 don't seem to run smoothly on any of the lr arcade emus I tested so far that retroarch has to offer yet. Mame2003 plays KI acceptably, but its due to that version having an auto-frame skip making things feel choppy. It should be possible for the Pi5 to run these games smoothly as I've seen on youtube people running it on Twister os and other front ends but I wouldn't know how to get that running through RGB lol. Also Tekken 1-3 and Tag run wonderfully (have to run Tek3 at low res since I don't have a medium res monitor). Kind of a disappointment, but I'm sure patience will show more devs optimizing.

@my3awds thanks for doing some testing here.

So am I right in understanding there is no way to get KI and KI2 running smoothly on Pi5 with a Jamma connector?
