I'm using retropi on a raspberry pi 5 and currently have been stuck with not being able to get my splash screens to work.
But mainly I'm trying to get rid of this on start up
    boot screen
If I go into retropi settings this also happens when I hit splash screens
video of what the pi says when screen splash's is selected

Splashscreens currently don't work. It seems you're using the desktop version of Pi OS, which is not recommended.

@sugarfree I tired this yesterday ish but I had to mess with everything before I added retropi on top of pi desktop. Works 90% ish you also have to take a file that is named the exact same thing and use the mv of cp command to move it into the right spot it seems

        sudo mv splash.png /usr/share/plymouth/pix/splash.png
