Options for PS2 on Pi 5

Hello all! first topic as a long time lurker. Ill also preface this with that I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to linux/raspbian, but I can follow directions! I was able to get Retropie on a pi 5 without difficulty do to the talented people in this forum.
There were instructions and testing done getting Aethersx2 on the Pi and it seemed to be going very well, up until it got scrubbed from the 'net a few months ago. I see people in the general forums were moving to Nethersx2 as an arm-compatible replacement. though their sys req page suggests its x86. Has anyone tested it? Or tested other options?
If not, would someone be willing to work with me/help me learn how to test it myself?

well not sure about Nethersx2. but Aethersx2 does work on the Pi5 with some good results.
you can install it from

Thank you! It took some investigation on my end but it did install rather easily.
That said, if my hunch is right and its only through that method, I would be interested in finding a more long-term method, if people are interested in helping test

To start I followed your advice and installed AetherSX2. It installed without much hassle from that private mirror, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting it to recognize my valid BIOS file (tested on my PC, file is fine).
Some life stuff happened so I haven't even looked at trying the other one from scratch yet, and to be frank i'm not sure where i'd start at the moment

Edit: I figured it out- I had become error. I was trying to be fancy with my file pathing, and I forgot the adage- keep it simple
