      Dietpi OS v9.8.0 Armv8 Debian GNU/Linux 12 Bookworm
      Device model : Orange Pi Zero 2W (aarch64)

      Hi all,

      I have successfully downloaded, -installed and -run the scraper for videos. However, the scraper picked up my other consoles but it is not picking up my dreamcast and psx. I did manage to use screenscraper for the pictures before, but the videos.. unsuccessful.

      I suspect this is because all my roms in dreamcast and psx are in .chd

      Any tips & tricks on this one?

      Thanks!

        Which RetroPie-Setup version you are using?

        Although Scraper is still included in RetroPie it is no longer maintained by the author.

        I would not use Scraper, once you run into an issue you are on yourself. The issue tracker is collecting recent issues which are not adressed (https://github.com/sselph/scraper/issues).
        The DB this Scraper uses (OpenVGDB) also seems to be abandoned since 2021.

        However, the readme states dreamcast should be possible when in gdi/bin format, playstation games are expected to be clamped together as .cue, you may also fiddle with the -extra_ext option. But as I noted, it can be a hit-and-miss experience.

        Happy to help with the scraper Skyscraper, though.

          @Lolonois think I can just add 1kb notepadfiles with a gamename.cue extention? 😂😅

          I'll give it a shot

            I have used Skyscraper with PSX games and .chd files, and it is working with videos too. I didn't use the GUI, I think it is deprecated now, if I'm not wrong.
            I am using terminal commands to run the scraper.

            Skyscrapper -p psx --flags video -s screenscraper

              I tried Skyscraper

              it was "videos"

              Sadly no video was downloaded. Also in the .emulation path was no video to be found.
              Only gameslist & images ðŸĪ”

              PS: only searching N64 PSX dreamcast for now

                @Lolonois

                Version 4.8.9

                I installed Skyscraper, see post above
                Nicer images than screen scraper, but takes ages. Still need to fiddle with the extras, if I find it ðŸĪŠ

                  @Arrafart https://gemba.github.io/skyscraper/CONFIGINI/#index-of-options-with-applicable-sections. There especially the video* options and maybe addExtenstions. However, before using addExtensions review the peas.json (/home/pi/.skyscraper/peas.json - or when accessing from Windoge Explorer \\retropie\configs\all\skyscraper) file which formats (=extensions) are used by Skyscraper out-of-the-box for your platforms/systems. Also, remember to update the platform's gamelist and media after scraping/downloading the data into the cache (leave out the -s option, i.e. run Skyscraper -p psx)

                    @sugarfree

                    Skyscraper -p psx --flags videos -s screenscraper

                    This worked! Also for dreamcast.
                    Of course needed to setup the gameslist update properly afterwards in retropie_setup.sh directly via terminal.
