Prevent Emulation Station to read all ROMs when starting
-
HI there,
when I am starting Retropie on my Pi3, Emulation Station always reads all the ROMs on my storage. Due to the fact that I have many of them it takes some time until the reading is finished.
Can I prevent Emulation Station to read the library complete always when staring by changing the configuration settings or is this necessary (no reading - no games). -
or is this necessary (no reading - no games).
Correct.

Correct.
Yes, but no.
You can enable the 'Parse gamelist only' option in EmulationStation and it will not re-scan the ROMs folders and rely on the gamelist(s) previously saved. Note that if you add or remove games, they will not show up/disappear unless you disable this option so that EmulationStation will write the correct/updated gamelist.

As I have all the ROMs I want collected (that's why it takes so long for the EmuStation to read) I will give it a try.
Thanx
