@Ogroto Not really sure, 4.5.1 sounds ancient, what is that jessie or stretch? Amazed its running at all.
You can try to enable verbose logging from runcommand, then upload to pastebin, but no promises...

              /dev/shm/runcommand.log

Edit: This played fine on my RPi3 running DTWPID3 which is Buster based

@RapidEdwin08 Yes, Stretch. The game feels great, just no bgm music but im fine with that.

                Runcommand.log

                Parameters:
                Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-genesis-plus-gx-EX/genesis_plus_gx_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/megadrive/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/megadrive/paprium.bin" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

Well, I'm not too sure what THIS was:

                  Paprium (Aftermarket) (Unl) (W)-250708-191755.png

but that seems to have gone very straightforwardly.

                  Paprium (Aftermarket) (Unl) (W)-250708-192201.png

Running beautifully with all sound and music as far as I can tell.

Raspberry Pi 3b and 8GB Raspberry Pi 4, both running Retropie 4.7.1 installed from scratch using Raspberry Pi Imager, with wired keyboard, wireless mouse and double arcade joystick attached.

@Ogroto I just put the folder with all the music in my ROMS>MEGADRIVE folder, and the .BIN file in ROMS>MEGADRIVE too (ie not inside the Paprium folder).

@JimmyFromTheBay Yes that is how i placed the files. It is probably the old version of retropie im using, which i really enjoyed this past years, no need for an update. Maybe it's time now to build a new one

If you go new build try out DTWPID, the Pi3 version is Buster based but pretty recent.

For your current build you might just have missing depends or something simple maybe.
You need to select Launch with verbose logging from runcommand first, then use pastebin for the large log.

Yes DTWPID is all Pi3 models friendly and more.
If you do go with DTWPID3, it has an older version of lr-genesis-plus-gx-EX already, but you can use the same steps here to update/compile from source.

Not much I can see from the log unfortunately.
                            Might be time to upgrade...

@Metro-City I played all the way to the end of Arcade mode yesterday with no issues. (Other than the occasional minor graphical glitch which I suspect would be present on real hardware too.)

You're not setup correctly then, as everything is working well on the RPi5 provided everything is in the right place.
                                    Be sure:

                                    1. You are using the correct version of the Paprium binary (the version with MD5 91ccdc0b20af85a16bfe0b1a698c19d0 works perfectly)
                                    2. You have correctly installed the latest Genesis Plus GX-EX version of the emulator
                                    3. You have updated your genesis/megadrive emulators.cfg file to include the EX version of the emulator
                                    4. You have mapped the binary to to EX version of the emulator with runcommand
                                    5. You have created a directory at the same level of the binary for MP3 files called "paprium"
                                    6. You have copied the correct MP3 files to the "paprium" folder
                                    7. You have set language and played the "vaporware" mini-game 1-time and restarted (this creates the essential .srm file)

HINT 1: If you are constantly seeing a lame mini-game, you're not using the right emulator
HINT 2: If there is no music at the title screen, your MP3s are not setup correctly
HINT 3: If you are crashing near the end of Level 1, it's because music/MP3s are not setup correctly.

                                    I hope this is helpful.

Unclear without more data. You're using a Pi5? Default settings? gl video? 1080P or 4K?

Gotcha. I haven't used a 3B+ in several years, and I'm unfamiliar with how the performance of the new emulator behaves on the older hardware/drivers.

I'm certain though that the Pi5 arm64 .so works fine. Sorry I can't help more. You could run the game with verbose logging turned on and check the log generated at /dev/shm/runcommand.log after a crash and see if it gives clues.
