Hello! I have a rare question, but Im hoping someone can help. I have an arcade with 4 joys/buttons set up as Gamepads 1-4 in Emulation Station. One of the buttons is a specific "Coin" button, that I have mapped as "Select" and it is also my "Hotkey."

I also happen to have 4 actual coin buttons (the ones that say 25 cents) that I want to make the only "Coin" buttons.

My question is, can I just add a line of code to the .cfg file in opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads...for example: input_r3_btn = "12" and wire the actual coin buttons to each individual usb decoder and plug it into the #12 slot? Then go into the emulator and set R3 as "Coin"?

I want to avoid having to remap each gamepad, so Im hoping this will work! Thanks for your time!

@Golden-Shellback The lazy part of me would just splice the cable from the coin button and coin slot. Otherwise I think you're looking for that es_input.cfg file and adding it. You'd also have to make sure you're inputing the button as identified.

@Daistaar, how do I input the button as identified?

Let me also ask this question: If I wire the coin button switches to the usb encoder, and hit the start button to bring up the Main Menu in Retropie and Configure Input...is it going to recognize the Gamepad I am currently using? Like, if I use Player 1 (Gamepad 1) is it going to let me re-map that specific Gamepad?
