      Hi Retropiers!!!

I recently bought a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and configured it with a Retropie 4.0.2 Image. I put some roms at /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ and everything works well but now I want to get the roms stored on my NAS. I followed the CIFS mount tutorial: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Running-ROMs-from-a-Network-Share and mounted the NAS GoodRoms folder at /home/pi/RetroPie/NASroms. I can list and browse the GoodRoms at the folder from my retropie. Now I'm trying to symlink the roms stored on /home/pi/RetroPie/NASroms to /home/pi/RetroPie/roms

Here's the content of my /home/pi/RetroPie folder:

      pi@retropie:~/RetroPie $ ls -al
      total 24
      drwxr-xr-x 7 pi pi 4096 Oct 17 10:01 .

      drwxrwxr-x 8 pi pi 4096 Feb 4 2016 BIOS

      drwxr-xr-x 3 pi pi 4096 Oct 16 13:27 splashscreens
      pi@retropie:~/RetroPie $

The content of my NASroms folder:

      pi@retropie:~/RetroPie/NASroms $ ls -al
      total 4
      drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Oct 18 09:19 .

      drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jun 5 17:22 Super Nintendo

      So I have created a symlink to my MegaDrive/Genesis ROMS to try: # ln -s Mega\ Drive/* /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/megadrive

Now I can list the entire roms from /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/megadrive :-) MmmMMmm... Smells like victory.

      pi@retropie:~/RetroPie/roms/megadrive $ ls -al | more

BUT If I scrape the Genesis/Megadrive system then all I get is "hash not found" for every game. What's going on? Roms are in .7z format.

Hash not found error for every rom :(

      Things I've tried:

      • Decompress .7z roms and symlink the .bin files. Not working.
      • Copy .7z and .bin roms to /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ (no symlinks). Not working. Maybe the GoodRoms pack is incompatible with scraper?

Is there a way to reset the scraper? Maybe It's gone mad...

Thank you very much for your help and time, and sorry for my bad english.

Thank you very much for your quick response @herb_fargus ! I've also tried decompressing the .7z with the same (bad) result. GoodRoms are in .bin format once decompressed... maybe .bin is neither supported? Is there any "scraper supported files" list?

Thought the GoodRoms were the standard and complete rom packs but I see it is not so :(

They were at one time. I believe most people would say that 'No-Intro' rom sets are the way to go now.

@mediamogul Oh! Thank you very much, I'm a little outdated :$
So all I have to do is download the no-intro and decompress 7z's? The roms format (.bin, .md, .gen) matters to scraper?

                @JuRaSSiCBoY

It verifies each game with a hash check, so the naming convention isn't important.

Thanks, neither the extension? Well, I'm going to try decompressing .7z and compressing in .zip the no-intro roms. If that does not work then I'll try with decompressed files. :)

EDIT: Ummm.. seems like .zip files are compatible with Scraper, Am I right? The No-intro roms in .zip format worked perfectly with Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, but I think It's not working with NES roms... (or maybe there are a lot of NES roms non-linked with hash from thegamedb). Another question, can we help SSelph in some way to link the hash with the game and cover to get all the No-intro games covers discoverable?
