    Hi,

I installed Retropie 4.x.x on my Raspberry Pi 2 and am happily MAME and NES gaming.

However, the Amiga emulator is not available at all. If I SSH in to the pi and look at home/pi/RetroPie/roms, there is no Amiga emulator listed there at all.

Is it not included with RetroPie 4?

    Cheers,
    Luca

you'll have to install it yourself, but it's very easy.

        Brilliant, thank you.

Which is the recommended Amiga emulator in your opinion?

        UAE4ALL or UA4ARM?

          @Luca1

Out of the two, 'UA4ARM' is the only one in active development. It also has better joystick support.

@mediamogul Excellent. I installed it, works a treat, except the Xin Mo arcade controls. I've selected them in the 'input' section but the joysticks just won't map properly.

Googling uae4arm Xin-Mo doesn't return anything useful. I don't suppose you have a link to how to set these arcade sticks up with this emulator?

If the Xin Mo presents itself as a typical joystick, then mapping is not necessary. You can just select it from the menu and the software will use the first axis and buttons it sees for control. If it presents as a keyboard, that might be a little trickier if you can't manually select the keys you need. What game are you testing with?

@mediamogul I tried it with Magic pockets which I used to play with joystick only.

I chose the Xin-mo option in the drop down input and even tried manually mapping each direction to joystick left/right etc but it just seems to completely ignore that.

When I get to the magic pockets menu, the joystick 1 & 2 buttons seem to be mapping to 2 buttons on my arcade cab fine as I can toggle menu options on and off, however when trying to move up and down in the menu the joystick won't navigate that. The only response I can get is tapping the joystick to the left and occasionally it will bounce down the menu by 1 row, but most of the time just move up the menu..

                Any ideas?

Well, that's half the problem. As for the joystick, the software might be expecting to find an axis and isn't seeing one. I took a brief look at the Xin Mo controls and it appears to present itself as a keyboard with each button activating a key press. My arcade control system does the same thing, but I only use it for MAME.

If you're really intent on getting the arcade controls to work, you may have to find mapping software capable of mapping keyboard keys to a virtual controller. I've been looking for a similar solution for a while and keep coming up short. I know that xboxdrv can't do it and I'm pretty sure you can't do it in Joymap. You might want to look into Linux Joystick Mapper. There are also a few people on the forums here who have contributed to the development of UAE4ARM, so it's possible that they might find their way here and have some input as well.
