Emulators on 4.0.3 outdated?
-
Hi,
just flashed retropie to my pi2 and noticed the emulators are 6 years old:

Why is that? I noticed that even overclocking my Pi 2 (and the internal superFX to 100 MHz) does not make Star Fox on SNES playable. I even used the same emulator as this guy.
How come?
best wishes!

I answered this in the other thread. But retropie ships with snes emulators based on snes9x from 2002, 2005, and 2010. There are no newer snes emulator that would be usable on the rpi.
Star Fox was playable on my rpi2 last time I tried. Try pocketsnes/snes9x2002 for best performance.
Also please read this again https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first as you are not providing much information when posting (You mention overclocking, but don't say what settings).

@naddel81
Here is Starfox on a RPi2
I'm using pocketsnes. It runs ok there I think - the default is lr-snes9x-next so as Buzz suggests, try out a different emulator.

thanks. will try that out!
do you run your Pi 2 on stock clocks?
