Hello everyone. I'm a VERY new user of retropie. I absolutely adore it and have no problems with it. My wife, on the other hand...

I'm a console gamer. She grew up playing old adventure games on the PC. I installed DOSBox and installed her favorite game of all time, Kings Quest IV. She loves being able to play it, however neither one of us can figure out how in the world we can save her progress. I don't know if there's a general function in DOSBox that does this or if it varies from game to game or if it's even possible. With that said, here's my very dumb question:

How does one save a game in DOSBox? If anyone would care to respond please make the directions as easy to follow as possible as I'm kind of an idiot, to be perfectly honest. Thank you all in advance.

@area877 For Kings Quest IV (and other point-and-click adventures), you may want to try ScummVM which does allow you to save progess from the Global Main Menu - here's a screenshot.

You will need to install ScummVM from the RetroPie Setup script and be sure to check the ScummVM wiki page to see how to add games to EmulationStation.

@area877 you may have to set permissions to the folder it saves to. Probably the same folder the game is saved in.

          Hi @area877 ,

If you are playing the old Kings Quest IV dos game (the one with the type in prompt at the bottom of the screen that looks like ">"), type save. It will ask you the location, just press enter and then it will ask you to select a directory to store your saves. When you restart, start a game and then type load and the same screen will appear.

          Si
