Wouldn't it just be easier to drop the logo from top of the site?

Why does x86 have to be on a separate site at all? Wouldn't it be cool to have it all under one roof?
        Questions from a biased x86-lover :)

Maybe you should find another email address to send to, cause maybe it got stuck in their spam folder I mean it's been a while now you think they reply already if they cared maybe they don't care like most open source programs they don't care if she's long as you don't abuse their software

I mean I think you're being a bit excessive there is a retro pie build that uses attract mode as it's front-end in addition to emulation station and the author did not ask permission he just does it in good faith, his information is in the attract mode forums you could probably ask him for information on what he did in order to get permission or not

@Devil78 i'm telling you you don't need to change anything email the guy who did the attract mode distro of retro pie I'm sure he'll tell you the same thing I'm telling you that you don't need to ask permission also if you're going to insist on changing the name and feel of it that is not a great name maybe RetroOS, RetroPie x86 Plus or something... or even RetroPie x86 Live (changing the name enough should be just enough)

You don't have to rename it - but that is your choice if you want to. The only point I made was using the logo as the main site logo - which made it look like it was an official RetroPie site (btw you may not get a reply from the logo rights holder - as he is busy).

I did some Ubuntu/Xubuntu Linux versions for the O2 Joggler - and did it without making it look like it was an official Xubuntu project - you could do the same - http://jwills.co.uk/projects/joggler-xubuntu/

@vbs regarding having it all under one roof - That was never mentioned by them initially, and it seems they want their own "project site". Which is fine, but they can provide their own support too :)

I'm not against the idea providing a bootable usb, but it's more work when a release comes out, and I would want it completely automated in the same way the Raspbian based RetroPie images are.

Hello everyone, I received the answer that Waits. Although my work was appreciated, I was advised to change his name and use the new logo. I can only accept this advice and continue to concentrate on the little bugs that are there. At this point, given the circumstances, the two operating systems, ligth and full desktop versions, will be available for download by the end of the month. I'll change the name of the discussion and, if there are no objections, I will continue to describe future developments here. I thank everyone for their patience, support and the interest you have shown.

I think the name is horrible and the logo is worse, how's it going to work with the distribution sources to download and update from retropie? I don't understand why you had to change the name and logo there are other distributions out there that are based on retro pie that are just different branches and they keep the same damn name I don't understand why it's such a problem

Better name would be RetroOSx86 or RetroGames OS

@Devil78 i actually like the name you chose. I like the the play of 2 words in 1. The word games isnt that necessary imo.

This is an outrage! I want my money back so I can develop my own distribution... with blackjack... and hookers. In fact, forget the distribution!

Thank you all for your suggestions. We'll choose together a name ... The reasons for which I chose this name are:

                                    1. Retro (How Retropie)
                                    2. OS (Operating System)
                                    3. Games (Games are fundamental)

I tried to combine the name in order to create a triple value.

I could just call it ROS (Retrogames OS).

Another name that I went through your mind is: Pixel OS

I also created a logo ... I'm not good with graphics that would take me more time to devote to it.

What is the worst thing that could happen if you just made a retro pie distribution I've seen third-party people do it without any problems the worst thing is they tell you know and you need to change the name just release it I don't think it's going to be a problem

Why not call it RetroPC or RetroX86 following the same schema as RetroPie?

@vbs that's what I was saying, if name change is warranted, but the information I've been reading says that you can do it without any problems just call it retro pie x86, or something
