Is there any retropie process running on Raspbian?

I have an SD card with raspbian, kodi, and some applications installed, that I use as multimedia server and internet AP server, and retropie on another sd card...
I saw that there are sd image file (the one I used to try) to install retropie, or you can install from repository on a working raspbian system
I think is better if I install retropie in the same sd card I have raspian, kodi, AP, etc, because I don´t need to change the sd every time I want to play, but I have a doubt...
retropie have processes running even when isn´t open, that could make raspbian go slower, or there will be nothing running until I open it?
If retropie need recourses even when isn´t been using, I will let it on an sd apart.

It won't use CPU unless a component is running (such as an emulator, or the launcher Emulation Station)

If you drop to the command line, or open a Terminal window under the Raspbian desktop, you can use the top command to view running processes.
