Retropie Bosega Usb-encoder issue.
-
Hi,
i bought a DIY Arcade Kit for a school project and wanted to make a Arcadestick with build in Retropie gaming console everything went good and the buttons and joysticks are working quite nice but not together.
Only one Player at a Time can play because Retropie thinks the Kit ( http://www.ebay.de/itm/DIY-Arcade-Kit-Zero-Delay-USB-Encoder-PC-Joystick-fur-MAME-Raspberry-Pi-AC491-/401212956781?hash=item5d6a27e06d:g:QJMAAOSwA3dYDlIk ) is just one gamepad(Arcade Layout) and not two.i found some fixes for other usb encoder but not for mine so i didnt used them. Should i try them out ?
I can use some buttons of player two while using player ones layout . The Joysticks are sharing theyr x and y axis.
Retropie calls it "TWIN USB GAMEPAD"i'm still having one week time to fix this, please help me :D
sorry for the terrible english (i'm from germany )

if you need more information feel free to ask. -
I know that more than one week has passed, so my answer is too late to help you, but I wanted to describe the solution here to help the others with the same problem. :)
The cheaper chinese two-player encoder boards need a hack to work properly and get detected as two controllers, which is described here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Xin-Mo-Controller
This guide is for Xin-Mo (and Juyao) encoder boards, but it can be used for any boards. The only difference will be the vendor ID and product ID mentioned in the guide. These can be queried with "lsusb" command. If the encoder is connected to a hub, or lsusb doesn't list it, "usb-devices" command can also be used - it will be listed as "Twin gamepad" or similar.
Good luck! -
Followed these steps with the same board. Added the line usbhid.quirks=0810:e001:0x040
with no luck. Anyone else used this board with 2 player successfully? -
i think you might need the 0x bits, try this
usbhid.quirks=0x0810:0xe001:0x040
