      Hello,

I read this post on how to get the cfg file to stop auto-updating, and I got the exit combo-key to work just fine, but I'm having trouble adjusting the volume in the same way.

There's a section in the mupen64plus.cfg file that reads:

Joy Mapping Increase Volume = "J0B10/B4"
Joy Mapping Decrease Volume = "J0B10/B5"

But it does not work. Am I missing another configuration somewhere? Really appreciate help, thanks a lot.

I'm still having trouble with this - does anyone have any experience? Is there anyway to get Retroarch to supersede Mupen?

@darksarcasm Retroarch config only works for the Libretro based emulators dude, so unless you use one the configs don't apply.

@markyh444 Any idea why the key bindings are selectively working?

@darksarcasm Sorry, I've only ever setup the exit hotkeys with Mupen and not any of the others. You could try setting them to keyboard keys and see if they work or double checking your controller buttons mappings are correct perhaps?

@markyh444 Yeah, I got the exit emulation key binding to work fine, so I swapped that and the volume up button and the exit function still worked. That's why I didn't know if it was something in the sound configuration I had to change.

Mupen is like the only emulator giving me problems, and it's the main motivation I had for making this project haha

@darksarcasm Had a quick spy at the Mupen64 wiki mate, and it does show some guidance on doing this. Have you looked already?

If not, here's the page. Might be of use...?

@markyh444 I hadn't seen that exact page, but I was on the wiki earlier. Like I said on the original post, I had this in the config file:

Joy Mapping Increase Volume = "J0B10/B4"
Joy Mapping Decrease Volume = "J0B10/B5"

And for the emulation exit command, I had "J0B10/B9", which did work. So I swapped the Increase Volume key and the Emulation Exit key, and the Emulation Exit still worked, indicating that it is a problem with the Increase Volume setting and not the button combination. That's where I'm so stumped.

Thanks for all your help though, I appreciate it.

@darksarcasm Sorry dude, must've skim read that bit (character flaw of mine). Have you tried a different button combo instead of using 10 in both in case it is conflicting?
