Retropie starts ok, emulation station starts booting, then loads half the screen and blocks.

here is the emulation station log: http://pastebin.com/q7R6FPHP

i can connect thru ssh, no overclock. did a fsck too.

when i kill emulation station the keyboard doesn't work on tty1.

Thanks for the log, but please try and provide more information as detailed here - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

        What version of RetroPie ?

        Have you overclocked ?

        What PSU ?

What ES theme are you using and what is your current memory split ? See https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/themes#white-screen-of-death (ES can crash in many ways when it runs of out GPU memory)

4.1 updated from 4.02 but working all right for a long time.

          Have you overclocked ?
yes, but aready tested with no overclock same result.

          What PSU ?

          already with a recommended PSU.

hum... ok, i guess it started blocking when i added another system.

          i'm with gpu_mem_1024=256

using <string name="ThemeSet" value="tronkyfran" /> how do i know the "codename" to try other? or put the default ?

edit: but i'm not getting white screen, it locks halfway. i'm doing a apt-get upgrade, and will try another theme the default to see how it goes. after that, will try to delete some systems.

what should be the next step if that doens't work?

As I said it doesn't always just cause a white screen - it can crash in many ways.

Edit the config and switch the theme to carbon or increase gpu mem or lower number of systems.

doesn't have to be a power of 2 afaik. See here for maximums:
