$20 Orange Pi support in Retropie? 2 x 10 faster then a Pi3!

Don't get me wrong I love my pi3 for the $$ but waiting for the pi4 is taking a long time should be out in 2017 and we can do n64 and psp games ect and might even be able to do ps2 who knows. Just look for other options to run a full retropie setup on the current single boards out there for cheap and low power

Will there be any other platforms in the future or anything planned?

If people are interested in playing higher end emulators for games, then the GPU matters just as much as the CPU. I don't see anywhere that the $20 Orange Pi One is really faster than the Raspberry Pi 3, let alone 2 to 10 times faster.

The ODroid-C2 is faster in some ways (but also lacks on-board Bluetooth) and is considerably more expensive (basically twice as expensive).

Is anyone running any better standalone boards then a pi3? I know I could build a tiny pc but a portable power board that can run Jaguar or dream cast would be ideal

Better is subjective. You'll find boards with better specs on paper, but in most cases, the software options are limited and often not optimized, which can even negate the speed benefits to begin with.

Part of me is hoping for a 2017 revision of the Raspberry Pi 3 (we've had releases the past two years in February) with a beefier GPU. They could do that without a total redesign and keep most compatibility with the existing Pi 3. Maybe a slight clock increase on the Pi 3 as well.

Not sure if it counts but I am running retropie on an Intel i5 nuc from eBay with 120 GB SSD for about 200€ including RAM and PSU and I am really happy with it. Oh also main point was the akasa passively cooled case also.

^^ are you running it on top of a linux? Unbuntu? What version
I have setup a upboard with Unbuntu and it had so many issues for me
Both 16.04 run fine but no controllers
14.04 run fine but no audio driver

Pretty sure it's an issue with the upboard

In my case it Lubuntu 16.04 x64. I have 4 Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers that work fine with the Microsoft USB dongle.
