Logitech F310 Stops Working Mid-Game
-
I'm new to this forum and RetroPie but I wanted to find a controller I could use for my Raspberry Pi so I got the Logitech F310. I installed the Xbox driver and configured the controller just fine, the controls work in the EmulationStation menu and while running a ROM in RetroArch. However, in all the games I've tried so far (one in N64 and PS1), the controller seems to get stuck mid-game and will input a button press until I unplug the controller from port 0 and plug it back in.
I also tried looking around on the internet for people who had the same problem and only one other person had it (https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/4amgis/controller_logitech_f310_stops_working_in_game/). Someone replied that he/she should downgrade to v2.6, but I couldn't find that download anywhere.
If anyone can help, I would be very appreciative because I look forward to playing games on my Raspberry Pi. :)

The F310 functions perfectly for me without xboxdrv. The default xpad driver in my opinion seems be overall more reliable. The only downside I see is when you go through the emulationstation configuration script, you have to scroll back up to fix the L2 and R2. That and the blinking home led for xbox360 controllers.

I just disabled xboxdrv and used the default one and it worked! I didn't know it was possible without xboxdrv. Thank you so much. Again, I'm new so I still have a lot to learn... :P

I have the same issue, so how do I disable 'xboxdrv'? And how do I set it to the default driver. And how do I fix the L2 and R2? Thanks!

@Karoi Access the RetroPie Setup Script and navigate to Setup / Configuration>>Xbox / Xbox 360 gamepad driver>>Disable xboxdrv

I don't think there's really a "fix" for L2 and R2, it's just something you kind of have to work with. Whenever you configure the triggers, it'll probably do a double entry. So it will do something like 3- in L2 and then it will fill in R2 with 3+ as well. You can either go into your joypad configuration located in
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/
and straighten things out manually. Or you can wait until you're at the bottom of the configuration, and you can scroll back up with the DPAD and redo the entries that aren't correct by pressing A and trying again. It's mostly just a mild annoyance after you've done it a few times, but it's something that when it happens the first time, it can be frustrating to figure out.
