Using PS3 & PS4 controllers together in harmony ?
-
I've been using ps3 controllers the last few years on the retropie, one of my controllers died so i figured hey i'll buy a ps4 controller because they were 30$ on amazon on black friday only to realize the ps3 bluetooth can only be run by itself and no other BT device can be used other than other ps3 controllers. Developers are there any plans in the future to be able to utilize other controllers along with ps3 controllers ?

Don't know what Retropie is running as kernel and BlueZ software, but you can use both PS3 and PS4 controllers by removing sixad service and using a recent enough kernel/BlueZ. I use this tutorial to pair mine : https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Sony_DualShock
DualShock 4 method also works with other BT controllers like 8bitdo. -
@barbudreadmon i think this may be alittle above my intelligence grade. I assumed i could just type in bluetoothct1 in the terminal and start the instructions from there. I was wrong

@smoothmalik If bluetoothct1 is not present, it means retropie is still using BlueZ 4, to my knowledge you won't be able to run both PS3 and PS4 controllers at the same time with this kind of setup. Perhaps you should open an issue about that on retropie's github
