I've never used Stratagus but I found this:
          https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/282/stratagus-tutorial-needed/5

After some more googling it looks like its easier to extract Warcraft 1's data using Windows, then just copy the data over and add ".data" to the end of the name of the directory you just copied over:

What walkthroughs have you already tried?

Wow thxs that at least got it all to show up in the menu but now when i run wargus i just get a black screen and then back to the stratagus menu.

I didn't really find any guides per say just tide bits of info from there github and forum posts here and their. Their own github and next to useless for install info even for someone more experienced. I think the creators of it all just expect you know know what to do lol

I think you're right. I see that all too often and have to keep hacking at it until I figure something out or give up and try it again some other time ;)

If you do figure this out, please post your findings or maybe someone else will see this that's got it working and give insight.

Ya it doesn't make it any easier when all the run, make or build commands don't work. I am new at this but i learn quick and i got OpenRA to work and quake 1 and Duke nukem 3d. I'm stuck on this and Quake 2.

What I would really like to see is my all time favorite FPS Half Life ported. But not sure if thats even possible.

I read that zerojay over at RetroPie-Extra has "getting Half-Life to work" on his "Future To-Do List":
