Running ROMs from a local FTP?

Hi
I want to have my ROMs on a local FTP, is this possible?
My KODI in the RetroPie get this to work really easy for the movies on the same FTP.
The reason is that i dont need to have the ROMs on all devices and it is easier to have one library with posters and stuff.

RetroPie Version Used: 4.1
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Keyboard
Controller used: NES
