Hey just wondering what's the best way to make a backup of the MicroSD because I have a 64GB one and don't want to reinstall everything if something goes wrong so having the access to an image backup would be great.

Alternatively, if you're on a Mac, you can use ApplePi-Baker.

Yup, this has been my sole RPi backup method for years now, very easy, very reliable :)

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is the content of the SD card the whole of the RetroPie setup? There's nothing copied onto some kind of memory on the RPi board itself?

The reason I ask, is because I want to try out some other ways of running RetroPie (e.g. attract mode), but I want to make sure I will be able to return to my working setup if something goes wrong. I'm mainly thinking of my controller setups.

@AndersHP Yes, it's the whole thing. You'll be able to return to your previously working setup.
