Cant launch Retropie setup (You need Raspbian)

Hi.

I need help with retro pie setup. I updated the retropie setup script and after that when i try to launch Retropie Setup from emulationstation or terminal i get the following error:

You need Raspbian/Debian Jessie or newer

I ran apt-get update and upgrade but the issue remains. Would really appreciate hep with this. Thanks.

@stahl80 As it says, you need to be on jessie. Some quick Googling found this tutorial or you could just download the pre-built RetroPie image that already has the OS included.

Tanks for the replay. I googled it and now understand. But why is the retropie setup behaving like this? What if i want to stay on wheezy and just install additional packages, thats not possible anymore without upgrading to jessie?
I guess it is possible to do but it doesn't look like its without issues or a lot of work.

@stahl80 wheezy has been unsupported for months and RetroPie-Setup has been warning this when launched for some time.
