SSH into retropie to change default boot?
-
I own a Pi 3 with retropie 4.1 installed. I made the unfortunate decision to not only add on Kodi 16.X (I'm away from my pi at the moment. Sorry, but the "latest" stable Kodi) but also changed Retropie settings to boot straight to Kodi.
Ever since, I can exit Kodi into Emulation Station, but can no longer access the Retropie settings menu to switch the default back, nor can I access the terminal. Trying to do either gives me a blank, black screen.
I figure my only option at this point is to use Putty on my Windows PC and run whatever necessary commands on the Pi from there to get Retropie as the default boot. I'm a Linux (and Putty) noob, so a little guidance would be much appreciated.

@ScottF80 I noticed on another post a scathing comment about not reading the FAQ .........
The answer to your problem is here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#how-do-i-boot-to-the-desktop-or-kodiIf you don't know how to use SSH then check here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/sshTo run the setup script follow the instructions here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Updating-RetroPie -
Oh, I see. So after installing PuTTY on my PC and accessing the terminal on my Pi, I can enter the following:
sudo ./RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh
This will bring up the RetroPie-Setup Script and I can then go to "configuration / tools" and then to "autostart" to change it from booting to Kodi to boot to Emulation Station.
Thanks!

@ScottF80 That's it - and you solved all by yourself ;)
