Since updating retropie, my controllers (Logitech f310) having this issue where whenever the X button is pressed/held down its like a turbo button: e.g. Mario would repetiviely short jump over and over. Anyone know the reason for this? Not sure if it's bc I updated or something else I unintentionally did.

It's only for the nes emulators. Not present with other emulators.

This has been a feature for as long as I've known in lr-fceumm. You may have previously had lr-nestopia enabled by default before the update.

How do I turn it off? It happens in new topic as well.

I have it configured so that my nes b button is X and a button is a. So with X as turbo, it makes it difficult to play.

I think it may be a default Retroarch config because it works that way in Nestopia as well.

To get rid of it, I would imagine you would need to edit the button configs for the NES or for Retroarch and remove the turbo button selections.

In lr-fceumm, the turbo function is a core control option that can be reassigned from the quickmenu. I'm unfamiliar with it's placement in lr-nestopia. Personally, this is great news for me. I recently switched to Nestopia to improve game compatibility and I hated having to give up the turbo buttons.

@fun4stuff you've forgot to fill the "read this first form".

The Core Input Remapping method is specific to the core (fceumm, nestopia, etc.), not to the system (NES).

We need to take a look at some config files to help you. Please, paste their content in ghostbin.com or something similar.

There is an option to assign a button to both "turbo a" and "turbo b". You might have your X button mapped to Turbo A.

I believe there is also a Turbo Activation button... which is a separate functionality. I never played with this, but if the above is not the issue, I would look into this.

@mediamogul thanks. i swear i looked in the quick menu under controls 10 times last night and didn't see it. Checked again and saw the "turbo a" and "turbo b" selections. They must have showed up after I updated and defaulted to the x button. I have since reassigned them which fixed the problem i was having.

@meleu thanks again. ill make sure i will comply with the "read this first form"
