Disable all Console Text
-
I found a similar thread here but I am having trouble following what the user has edited to achieve the desired effect of removing all console text. I want the total sense of immersion when using the device - and removing console text I believe is the last piece of the puzzle. Any guides or advice on how to remove console text from appearing during boot or launching a ROM would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

There isn't much console text shown launching a rom these days - a dialog is shown instead but can be turned off

The current retropie image boot is reasonably quiet by default - as quiet as I want it (it shows errors and fsck). You can make it quieter by using dev/tty3 for console output, but you can miss things then.

BuZz where do use that line in the boot cmdline.txt file?
With using Attract Mode as the frontend there is quit a bit of console text when loading MAME roms, is there a way to hide that? -

I haven't used attractmode yet - can't advise. You should ask @floob perhaps if you are using his image.

Yes I have the boot text and logo gone, that is easy information to find. I was asking about console text when loading mame roms. Still using RetroPie 3.7 just with Attract Mode as the frontend rather than with EultaionStation.
It just dispalys the text of what is loading as it goes through opeing the advmame emultor etc. If there is no way to hide this that's fine just curious. :) -

No I complied my own image since his has some issues on the RPi3, well on my testing anyway.
And I did ask on the AM forum but no reply. It's still running on the Retropie image along with EmulationStation, I can switch between the 2 by dropping back to the console.
Just when Advmame loads a rom it drops to the console , it's fine if no one knows how to hide the console after the frontend loads I can live with it. Just thought I would ask. ;)
