I have more or less the background finished, just some details left. Here it is a mockup of the final look. It wont be so nice because I`ll have to make the reflections neutral and not related to every different video.
Atari 2600 will be ready for testing this weekend :D
          Hope you like it,

Thinking about it, I suppose I'll need to change the tv for different emulators, a more 80s tv for snes, etc...

@tronkyfran I like the TV being in the background! Is it a still image on the TV or is it actually possible to blur the preview videos? @fieldofcows ?

Its possible and will be that way ;)
In fact Im doing it right now, but its time consuming and difficult to automate, so Ill have to figure out how to make it easier for the rest of the systems!!!!

It's not possible to blur videos using the video component at the moment but anything is possible with a bit of work :) I'm happy to make changes to the video preview to support all the excellent themes that are coming out.

Its not possible with the vídeo componentes sadly, we'd need Blur and distort capabilities on It,BUT It can always be done "by hand", proyecting the vídeo on the 3d screen, and exporting a New vídeo with the perspective and Blur "embedded",but It implies a los of after effects work, and it cant be scraped if not uploaded on a custom site. So the good thing, it looks nice, the bad, its not comfortable, not scrapable, and till I figure how to automate the process( I have some ideas), you wont have too many vídeos avaiable.
A lot of thing on the bad side, but we are talking about 20 years old games, we're not in a hurry, dont we? :P We'll get ir better with time!!

Reworking a lot of things to have box and cartridge art working.
Video screen will be less bright and blurry, but well, slowly getting there. Dont know about metadata right now.

I wish I have blend modes on the images, its the only thing I miss right now in theme customization options, custom art generation would be a breeze for everyone!!!!

Rooms looks very British style with that armchair ;-). But maybe I'm wrong as I'm not from the UK.

@tronkyfran if I can suggest I'd slightly reduce the contrast and/or have slightly more light; the VCS is quite in the shadow vs TV glow.

@tronkyfran if you create the images with background (the static room and TV) on different layer from console, TV screen and cartridge (they are the real 'variable' data) in a PSD file, then people should be able to customise room and TV quite easily by just creating different background. What do you think?

I've just recently set up my first pi and your theme is by far my favorite. Fantastic work! I was wondering if you have (or plan to) made theme backgrounds for virtualboy, 32x, or FDS in the style of your other HD console images. Would love to round out my set. Thanks!

Edit: Also, on the topic of image resolution, I agree that it might be ideal to have a 720p version. I apparently was pushing the limit and had one background fail to appear. I've gotten around that by adjusting my gpu_mem, but this might not be an ideal thing to do just for the sake of the main menu (especially if adding a few more will break it again). :)
