Kodi no config on RetroPie-Setup 4.1.9

just did a fresh install with the recently updated retropie-setup 4.1.9
previous to the 4.1.9 update the ports section in emulationstation didnt show up when i installed kodi, now the ports section shows up but when i try to launch kodi it says 'no config found for system kodi' and puts me back to the emulationstation screen -
Looks like I missed something. I'll look into it.

Please update retropie-setup and see if my last change fixes it (it will still show v4.1.9) - you will need to reinstall kodi.

Hi Sorry to jump in on this post but I have been trying to get Kodi to work on my pi3 retropie image,I have it setup to an old HP monitor max resolution 1280x1024 via a HDMI to VGA adaptor all the emulators work fine but when I try to open kodi it has a white box moving round the screen set resolution to 1280x1024.
I did change the config.txt file to mode 2 and group 35.
Kodi does not seen to like it.
Is there a way to edit the kofi config to change to a resolution that will work.
This is my thrid day ,now pulling my hair out,I was able to get into kodi settings once and I changed the resolution to 1280x1024 by pressing a button on my gamepad when the white box comes on screen just before kodi is to start,but now I don't get the white box and have to sgut down the pie as it hangs with a blank sreen.I hope you find the time to help me with this problem.
