      Hi,

the latest build won't install under the current xbian_latest_rpi3.
Retroarch complains about missing libraspberrypi-dev (which is replaced by xbian-package-firmware under xbian):

Did not find needed package(s): libraspberrypi-dev. I am trying to install them now.
      Reading package lists...
      Building dependency tree...
      Reading state information...
xbian-package-firmware is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
      Could not install package(s): libraspberrypi-dev.

How can I override this (as it should actually work)?

      Any hints? Highly appreciated...

@Tozzi xbian is not currently supported. You would need to modify package dependencies etc.

I can look into adding support though so long as xbian has everything else we need.

          It should have everything.
Also, apparently, it did work before.
I'm just out of luck with the current versions...

@Tozzi It would only have worked if libraspberrypi-dev was previously available, and I have never specifically added support.

Well, it is. But the required headers (?) apparently have been moved to the package "xbian-package-firmware"...

libraspberrypi-bin is included in "xbian-update" now, btw.
One of the xbian developers has even put in a fix for "libraspberrypi-dev" today because of me.

I'd be really happy if you could adjust the dependencies accordingly, as Raspbian is way too bloated for my purposes and I'm otherwise really happy with xbian.

At some point, it did actually work, as you can see here:

@Tozzi perhaps xbian then for rpi1 was based from Raspbian which included the needed packages (like OSMC - on the rpi1 it's Raspbian, on the rpi2 it's Debian). Or they changed it later to use their own packages or something. Xbian has never been officially supported though.

Those packages have always been required though afair (Actually it may have been before I got involved - but the code has been completely rewritten since 2013 and moved from supporting Wheezy to jessie etc). A lot has probably changed on Xbian since then too.

It still is mainly based on Debian.
Well, I guess I could always just switch SD cards when I want to play, but that seems a little awkward, as I'm sure it all boils down to some really minor problem.
Anyway, thanks for your time! Perhaps this problem will get solved anyhow over time...
                    Note to myself: Patience! ;)

If you update retropie-setup that dependency issue should be sorted. I've not had time to do much further testing though.
