@BennySpaceCore said in Accidentally uninstalled default theme on Pi Zero:

it still can't find ether, btw my USB stick name is ESD-USB

You USB drive might be named "ESD-USB" in Windows but that's not what we need to know when copying files from it.

You're still going to need /media/usb0/ and think of that like "D:\" in Windows (or whatever drive letter instead of D).

To list out (or show) all the files on your USB drive type:
        ls -l /media/usb0/
"ls" means to list (like "dir" in MS-DOS)
"-l" just means to give more information like size and date file was created, etc.
"/media/usb0/" is the directory you want to see what files are in
The MS-DOS equivalent would be "dir d:\"

Do that "ls" command mentioned above and let me know what you see.

@backstander after I type it, it says total 0, I tried ESD-USB just to see what it would say and it said it can't find it

            maybe try ls -l /media/usb1/
if nothing found then try ls -l /media/usb2/

Does your USB drive light up and flash a little when you first plug it into your Pi?

Also plug that USB drive back into Windows and make sure you can read it still lol

@BennySpaceCore Hi Benny. I've been lurking this thread since you started it, just to see. I would recommend either finding your wifi dongle or investing in a new one, 8 bucks. Your life will be SO much easier if you intend to stick with the Pi Zero. I'm not trying to be rude, please don't take it that way, it's just advice. Take it or leave it.

@backstander yeah the light blinks then after a little becomes solid, and the USB stick still reads on my pc.

@columboscoat I completely understand that I just haven't got to ordering one, it's just I would rather not spend money if there's a way to do it with the things I need, but I might just get a wifi dongle

@columboscoat I still have the old one, but since it's soooooo old it won't connect to my internet, the one I have is 15 years old

@BennySpaceCore I would REALLY recommend it. Or save the pennies and pick up a Pi3. $35 bucks is not a fortune, but I understand it's not everyone's top priority for their cash. It just seems like the Pi and retrogaming might be something you are into so it might be worth the outlay.

@columboscoat I am thinking about someday getting a pi 3 so I can expand my library of games, if we can't get this to work I might just buy a dongle

@BennySpaceCore You should anyway. If you think this is the last issue you will have with the Pi you must be crazy... It's a learning computer supported by open source software, things go wrong.

I've got a RPi3 and it's nice having an Eithernet port, WiFi, Bluetooth and 4 USBs built-in! I did read that we might see some stripped down RPi3s with no Eithernet and just 1 USB port for a cheaper price maybe coming out this year!

@backstander sweet! I think I'm gonna buy a wifi dongle at Best Buy tonight since I'm too inpatient to wait for one to arrive in the mail. Is there anything I need to setup for that besides connecting to the wifi?

I've never tried using a WiFi dongle but make sure it's compatible with the Raspberry Pi:
                                      http://elinux.org/RPi_USB_Wi-Fi_Adapters

Maybe print out that list and give it to the Best Buy employee to see if they can find one on that list lol.

Once it's working, there's an easy menu in RetroPie to connect to wireless networks.

@backstander went to 3 different places, none had anything compatible. So it's ether I just order one offline or are you willing to spend some more time and probably get frustrated in the process, I'm okay with ether, your time, your choice.

I'd say order one online and I'll try to help you in the meantime

Now after you've got your USB drive in your Pi, type this to see what's mounted and where:
                                            df -aTh

Let me know what it says.
