Cheat Codes Button Assignment

I have the Retro NES/SNES controller found here
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JYGYAUG/ref=ya_st_dp_summaryfrom within the retroarch.cfg specifically the setting of input_menu_toggle_gamepad_combo what would be my best bet for configs?
Ideally I would like it as few buttons as possible, like maybe
1 = A+B, 2 = X+YHowever I am not sure if the button name shown on the controller is the button name that .cfg sees it as. Also, what is the input_menu_toggle_gamepad_combo = 2 -- what does that mean? How should I set that up with my specific controller?
