      Hi all. Noticing some janky controls with a few older games like the Star Wars one I was so eager to post about before, Tron, Journey, etc. not picking up on credits so I can't start. Is there a way to edit this or make it more universal?

        Most games that I found have the #5 button on the keyboard already mapped to it (the first 4 being players 1-4). It can be remapped in the config, but if you have a keyboard attached already, it's just too easy to hit '5' a few times to add credits.

          By default, the arcade controllers have the Insert Coin function mapped to the Select button on the controllers (at least with my setup they do). Never tried more than 2 players, but most arcade games seem to share credits between 2 players anyway.

            Yeah mine does select. Is there something in the individual roms I need to alter? Or maybe try multiple controllers?

              I've noticed this when using lr-mame2003, particularly with Mr Do! games. Trying to add coins with a keyboard isn't much help. All I can suggest is to try other emulators.

              For Star Wars, I would recommend AdvanceMAME. You can insert coins and it's the best emulator for vector games - see guide below:

                I don't think I have tried those specific roms. The mapping should be editable using the tab key if a keyboard is connected. I wonder if you maybe just ran across some ROMs that aren't fully compatible.

                EDIT: as @dudleydes suggested, try a different emulator and see if that works.

                  @dudleydes, re: changing emulator

                  Need to move the roms for that or can they stay in the libretto directory?

                    @infocorn Easiest to put them in the Arcade folder. That way you will be able to choose from all of the installed MAME emulators in the runcommand menu.

                    You may have to install AdvanceMAME from the setup script first for it to show up.

                      @dudleydes Man, I finally had the time to come back to this thread tonight now I'm kind of lost. I'm setting up the RP tonight with a proper keyboard and monitor. Just the AdvanceMAME part...is there a walkthru on this?
