I know this was discussed previously but i cannot find the thread. When i load a .crt file it stays on the commodore blue screen saying ready. It never goes beyond that. The cursor still blinks and it recognizes hitting keys. Disks and tapes work fine. I am on the version of vice from 3.8.1. I tried installing binary from retropie setup 4.1.11 commit (7ffa926) and it goes through a bunch of script stuff then goes back to retropie-setup screen and says "could not find any binary for vice" then it changes to source. then when i click on that it says "could not successfully build c64 emulator vice (/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/build/vice/src/x64 not found)"

      pastebin

I am on raspberry pi 3

looks like the vice update part is because retropie-setup was just now doing a new commit while i was in the middle of updating. problem solved. updating fixed it

@edmaul69 it failed due to a networking issue (you had no connectivity to raspbian repositories). It's all in the log :-)

          Err http://archive.raspberrypi.org jessie/main armhf Packages
Cannot initiate the connection to archive.raspberrypi.org:80 (2a00:1098:0:80:1000:13:0:8). - connect (101: Network is unreachable) [IP: 2a00:1098:0:80:1000:13:0:8 80]

@BuZz not sure what happened there. I updated retropie setup no problem getting a commit that was 25 hours old. Then went through the problems updating vice. Then i updated retropie-setup again and got a new commit that was three minutes old. Guess that wasn the problem. But it doesnt surprise me about the internet connection. Im really far from my router.

Can you by chance recommend a good program on vice to test special keys? (not alphabet but like the shifted number keys and f keys. I dont actually know how to use alternate f keys either) I got a commodore 64 that i have a keyrah v2 in and it has a mode made for vice but testing on a computer the shifted number keys are the same in both pc and commodore emulation mode.

@GadjeT7 Please don't bump very old topics. If you have an issue with Vice, then please open up a new topic and describe your issue, adding the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
