          i create a retropie 4.1 SD, but when i boot no hdmi audio.

          I burn the image to a compatible SD card and when I boot, full HDMI audio on LG
          and Panasonic screens

          if i launch kodi and i return to retropie audio work. BUG.

          I am not seeing this "bug". TV sets vary, not so the retropie image.

            Edit BOOT/config.txt and uncomment the line that reads #hdmi_drive=2

              @pelmen just an fyi, linux is case sensitive if he needs to do this from command line.

              @kelvo you need to edit /boot/config.txt and as pelmen said remove the hashtag in front of this:

              #hdmi_drive=2

              To:

              hdmi_drive=2

                Retropie is a computer by all means and will default to dvi video instead of hdmi with audio first. Ran into that problem with an old tv that was seen as a dvi monitor on one hdmi port. Either change hdmi ports or set the hdmi mode as said above.

                  @edmaul69

                  I think this simple HDMI audio switch should really be somewhat front and centre with the audio config tool right now.

                  Some of us have been spoilt with how slick the jeos solutions are for kodi I think where everything just works (e.g. Openelec, Libreelec). Retropie is a great project, but it's got a way to go to bring all the config into the main gui, etc.. But this thing has been asked enough times that it should be sorted out properly.
                  It's the #1 first stop here even https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/sound-issues
