Hello. I have noticed audio seems to fade in on emulators after the first sound is played. Is there a way to disable this feature? It also seems to happen on the emulation station menu which makes me think it's not retroarch related.

      Thanks for any assistance.

I don't know if I've noticed any fade in sounds on my RetroPie. I wonder if it is your TV causing this? Does your TV have any audio processing on or normalization settings? You might experiment with that.

You might also give us more information like if you're using audio from HDMI or 3.5mm and if you made any custom changes, etc.

@tekn0 Yeah, I don't have any kind of audio fade in at all. I am using a USB powered mini amplifier, taking the output from the mini headphone jack.

@backstander It's hdmi audio. It's interesting because a friend with a different tv and pi also reported the same. I will have to test on more tv's and report back.

@caver01 It's a very light fade in. It only lasts a second or so. Seems like a protection of some sort to stop audio from red lining/clipping or distorting on first threshold. It very well could be our tv's. I will look into some settings as I have not experienced this with any other devices.

I don't know if you have a Vizio TV (that's what I've got) but their support page says to turn off SRS TruSurround and SRS TruVolume:

My TV has SRS TruSurround HD set to "Standard" and SRS TruVolume is "Off".
