      Sorry I'm new to this. Does saying I'm using mupen64plus help?

          Sometime the auro-config doesn't work right for mupen64. You can try changing to lr-mupen in the runcommand menu before a game launches to see if that will help. the "lr-" (libretto) version pulls configs from RetroArch. I have seen a few setups where this was the easiest way to get N64 controllers working (the other way is manually creating a config file which is a bit harder if you are not very familiar with how the controller buttons are mapped in linux).

            @mrbwa1 Switching to lr-glupen64 works except that the joystick isn't as responsive as it should be. Is there a way to edit a config file to fix it?

              @enano2054 change the core options from RGUI - https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/wiki/RGUI

              Quick Settings -> Option or something.

                @BuZz At the risk of sounding like a total idiot, I am not sure which core options to change. I am trying different Joypad Drivers to see if that works.

                  Which one? lr? or non-lr?

                  Have you look at the configs here:

                    @enano2054 Don't change driver - did you go into the options I mention? You should see a bunch of core specific configuration such as Analog Sensitivity (percent)

                      @BuZz Sorry I don't see anything that says "Quick Settings -> Options"

                      What I see in RGUI is

                      Start Remote Pad
                      Load Core
                      Load Content
                      Load Recent
                      Scan Content
                      Netplay
                      Online Updater
                      Settings
                      Information
                      Configurations
                      Help
                      Quit Retroarch

                        @enano2054 Usually Quick settings is shown when you are in RGUI within a game. Try loading a game in lr-muppen and going to RGUI. You should then be able to go to Quick Menu -> Core Options to find the Analog Sensitivity setting.

                        I use Core Options with PSx all the time, so I have been in and out of Core Options a few times.

                          @enano2054 You need to enter RGUI when you are running the emulator with SELECT+X

                            @mrbwa1 I have lr-glupen64, mupen64plus-gles2n64, mupen64plus-gles2rice, mupen-GLideN64, and mupen64plus-videocore as emulator options.

                            Thanks for your help

                              @BuZz I'll try that. I don't know if it's because I'm using the wrong emulator but it's not loading with I do select-x. Thanks for your patience with me. I am still learning.

                                @enano2054 You should be using lr-glupen64 as that is a libretro emulator that has these options (I was replying to your post where you said you had switched to that emulator, but the sensitivity was wrong)

                                  Don't mean to sound like a jerk, but i'm actually glad you ran into issues because I'm having the same exact problem. I have 2 variances though 1) I'm using an original N64 controller with a N64 mayflash 2 port usb adapter 2) the controller is working in emulationstation, but it's not working in any emulators. After looking into the config files it appears that the controller was mapped to emulationstation but it didn't update any of the other config files that exist in the emulator directories. My xbox controller shows up under the input devices in all emulators config files but my N64 is missing. I spent pretty much all of last night trying to figure out the problem, but after reading through this it looks like I probably will be able to solve this problem mapping it with RGUI.

                                  Edit: it looks we are using the same controller+adapter

                                            @BuZz is a great guy!

                                            And I apologize for also thinking you were still in lr-glupen. I tend to mix up which version is the lr- one (glupen or mupen). The non-libretto emulators can be a pain to get controllers set up on, so I usually avoid them anymore unless I have a specific ROM I know needs to non "lr-" version (and I'm pretty sure that's pretty much a thing of the past now).
