      Hello there,.

      So I've taken the plunge into Pi and you've been recommended and I'm having issues, so here I am.

      My Kit, Rasberry Pi 3 Element 14 board and power supply.
      I did have a pre-installed SD card, but I downloaded your image from your download link of Retropie 4.1 from here:
      https://retropie.org.uk/download/, And then ran the disk imager to get it on the SD card.
      USB units being used: 1x Dell Keyboard, 1x Logitech G600 mouse for configuration, and 1 SNES knockoff USB controller.

      So I ran the image, booted up, Retropie asked me to configure my controller, all with no issues.

      I then get to the RetroPie splash screen with a white bar under it saying "13 games available" though at the moment I've only loaded one rom onto the SD card.

      This is where the problems are, I have pressed left and right to I assume scroll this bar along to the available games, only the bar thinks about it and then reappears, no error messages or anything that I can see to say why nothing is happening.

      So I'm trying to figure out what if anything I've done wrong so I can get this working ?

      Any suggestions ?

        @Magicmerly Did you read through https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/First-Installation ?

        Did you copy any roms over and restart Emulation Station ?

          Hi Buzz, yes, I did that before posting, I have now three roms I've uploaded to the various folders (still not sure why it' says 13 games are available but I digress) I have two mario games in the NES and Snes folders and Ghosts and Goblins in the Mame folders.

            @Magicmerly ignore the 13 games - that's just because the retropie menu has 13 items in it (which are not actually games). On later RetroPie releases this has changed to say "Configuration".

              @Magicmerly Please can you describe the issue more - can you see the NES game? What happens when you try and launch it ? make sure you check the relevant wiki pages for each emulator - especially MAME as you need a specific rom set depending on emulator.

              I'm not really sure if you are saying you are having an issue navigating emulation station or launching.

                Thanks Buzz, you made me question the validity of my roms, I've managed to get this working now, thanks for your assistance.
