Can't even get to the startup screen
-
I'm brand new to this.
I got a new Pi 3, loaded RetroPie 4.1 onto a 32GB card (following the directions from the RetroPie website), inserted the SD card into the Pi, attached a keyboard, hooked up the TV via HDMI, and plugged it into a 2.5A power supply. It started up, showed me the four berries and eventually stopped at a DOS-like screen that's giving me a "pi@retropie:~ $" prompt. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? -

a) Have a corrupted card or a non-genuine one.
OR
b) You burned the image for the Pi Zero / 1 instead of the image for the Pi 2/3 - you have a quad core because you see 4 raspberries
-
@rbaker the rpi1 image will work on the rpi2/3 but not the other way around.
Probably a bad sdcard or badly written image.

I'm sure I loaded the right version of RetroPie. The SD card is a class 10 PNY. I guess I reformat the card and try it again. If that doesn't work I'll get one of the SD cards listed at http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards
Thanks.
