[SOLVED] xboxdrv and kernel 4.4.38 (RetroPie 4.1.8)
-
My Xbox 360 wireless controllers don't work with the latest RetroPie release (4.1.8) on a RSPi 3. I've the original Microsoft wireless receiver and two joystick and I installed the xboxdrv (0.8.8) from RetroPie Setup script. The issues are: only one controller works per time (and the four lights flash) or I can't connect to the RetroPie.
I had been using a RetroPie v3.8 (Debian 7.8) with the same xboxdrv and controllers work very well.
Also, I removed the xpad driver and did a
dist-upgrade
but doesn't work.The dmesg log

@mediamogul someone deleted it or renamed it. I'll check the git history and restore it. Wish people wouldn't break stuff...
-
Should be fixed up.
-
I just solved it installing RetroPie in an archived Raspbian image. The steps are on my blog: How to have RetroPie 4.1 and xboxdrv full supported (instead of xpad)
-
@vando you should just be able to roll back the kernel with rpi-update without installing a full Raspbian image.
Ideally xboxdrv should just be resolved upstream for future kernel releases
-
@herb_fargus I tried it but doesn't work: Pi3 stuck on rainbow screen after a kernel downgrade.
