Correct location for PSX Rearmed Bios? Always selects HLE
-
Link created but doesnt work
only way to get this going is to copy a bios file to home/pi/bios/
personally i still think its a bug and the wiki should be updated to reflect it, installing a fresh build isnt really the answer to fixing it. Good for people just starting out but not for people who have already spent time making their retropie from scratch.
-
@a7mag3ddon it wont work unless your launch line changes directory - which is now fixed - there is no bios bug anymore. It won't work if you just create a symlink on a non updated retropie 4.1 etc.
I have removed/reinstall the latest pcsx-rearmed multiple times and it works fine each time. You have provided me with no information - no configs (as I asked for), no system specs, no idea of what you are launching and so on.
-
ok can you please tell me what that line of launch code is so i can manually add it and test that too
-
i can share the configs with you from the broken build if you think you can sort it without doing a fresh install, i also have resintalled using a fresh image and yes, it does work. but wiping the card isnt the solution.
-
@a7mag3ddon I updated my post above.
Without more information this will be my last post on the matter.
The new launch line is
pushd /opt/retropie/emulators/pcsx-rearmed; ./pcsx -cdfile %ROM%; popd
-
i just said TELL ME what you need, i will supply it!
be specific in your request for the files you want.

this isn't how you get help - be polite if you want me to continue to help you.
I need all your
/opt/retropie/configs
folder and the/opt/retropie/emulators/pxsx-rearmed
folder as well as your/boot/config.txt
Tell me your system specs.
BTW you should make sure you are not overclocking etc when testing all this.
-
i entered that line, fails to start emulator now.
I will get you the configs you have asked for, as i keep saying this a vanilla build, no modifications to any configs other than using Pixel theme.
i dont know what to say about system specs, its standard pi from a genuine uk shop, build is from website, pixel theme, xbox 360 wireless pad, sandisk 128gb card (and samsung evo+) no fans or sinks fitted. using hdmi with audio out from 3.5mm jack.
How should i get the link to MEGA containing the files to you when ive done them? post here ?
Thanks

@a7mag3ddon at the top of the page and when you register it says:
Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
it provides a checklist of information to provide when you post - which model of rpi for example and so on.
you can post them here or email me a link - my email is on my profile.
-
Ok thanks for that, ill just add a text file in the zip with that info in. doing it now.

This post is deleted! -
Ok files are ready..

I will disable link when you have them.

@a7mag3ddon What's the output of
uname -a
on your system ? -
Its...
pi@retropie:~ $ uname -a
Linux retropie 4.4.26-v7+ #915 SMP Thu Oct 20 17:08:44 BST 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux -
I worked it out from your configs - you should
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
on your system as you are not up to date with kernel/firmware.I'm still unable to reproduce the problem with your binaries and configs on a RPI3 I have here (Testing with Tekken 3 - loads/runs fine).
-
Ok i will try that right now. weird though.
-
Is there any reason why that would be? i mean, i downloaded latest version and first thing i did on this build was to an update core system.
I only rebuilt this SD a few days ago because i was originally having issues with my 360xbox controller and that damn xboxdrv driver, every time i updated my old SD from last year i said no to the kernel update. and i figured it was time to get with new kids on the block haha
-
@a7mag3ddon You didn't update the system packages ?
-
I thought thats what the Core was (ill check the menus choices once this finishes updating), after that i installed all emulators (easier than adding 1 by 1) and removed the few i didnt want.
-
@a7mag3ddon Core packages ? That's just retroarch, emulationstation, the retropie menu, and the runcommand launcher.
To update retropie fully you need to do "Update all installed packages" from the main menu (it asks about updating system packages too).
