How can I have both a fan and a power switch?
-
I'm new to the site and I plan on making a console out of a broken Retron 1. I would like to use the power and reset buttons already on the console, I would also like to install a fan on the inside for overclocking. I can find instructions online for only having one or the other, but not for both. Can anyone give me a hand with this? Any help would be much appreciated.

I actually bought a 2.5amp power supply with an on/off button off of ebay. Works beautifully. Unfortunately, not being sold anymore. Didn't get this specific one but it should work:

Many ways!
-
A power supply with a switch on so you can power down the unit after you've done your safe shutdown.
-
Power the fan from the USB port so that it goes of with the Pi.

One of these circuits that will shut off the power to the whole device a couple of minutes after the shutdown is initiated (although you might need a new case):
