Hello, I am not sure if you heard but there is a new ROM out there for NBA Jam on the SNES. It is called NBA Jam 2K17. It works great, unless I try to go into options, then it crashes. The maker says I need to use the "NBA Jam 2K17.000" save state file. Where do I place this in Retropie?

Also, I made a cover art for this. It's just the NBA Jam TE cover with a little tweak. But I don't use Sselph's scraper, so is there some other manual way I can edit the metadata? I tried to edit the snes gamelist.xml by scrolling down to the NBA Jam 2K17 entry and doing the best I could to make it look like regular NBA Jam TE with the image file link, description, etc.. but when I started Retropie and went to the game my system crashed. I reverted back to what it was and it works again. I placed my custom .jpg in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/downloaded_images. I also pressed F4 to escape EmulationStation before I did these edits.

Here is my art edit: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AluYjzvuXNufg11wpzwoH4X3F99k

I wasn't able to figure out where to put the save file yet but if I remember correctly you can use the normal scraper for TheGamesDB and it already has a boxart for the mod.
To be clear I know where to put the save but I couldn't get it to work. I tried changing the extension to srm and state0 but it didn't worked. I also tried to export a different kind of save with Snes9x on Windows but there was no option for anything useful.

For some reason TheGamesDB doesn't scrape anything. Nevermind, it worked. I would still like to use my own cover art. Maybe now I can just replace the file?

Okay, so I just dropped my edited file in place of the scraped game art through winSCP. Very very easy. I also updated my custom cover, I like it much better and looks great in my setup:

How did you get the game to load? Everytime I load it, it crashes back to the games screen. What emulator are you using?

@surils SNES9X I believe, the default for Retropie.

@GreenHawk84 Thanks. I got it to work on my PC but it looks likes its loading but then goes back to the games screen. Anyway to determine the issue?

@surils not really sure, I downloaded the .zip file from the users blog, dropped it in to my SNES ROMs folder, and it worked. It was that easy.

@GreenHawk84 Thanks. Which file did you drop in the snes roms folder? The .smc, correct?
