Can RetroPie be able to run on the UDOO X86?
-
Recently there been a kick-starter campaign about a new hardware that claims to be 10 times faster than the current Raspberry Pi 3. This would be a major breakthrough if their claims are right and all the retro games would run extra smooth. Have the RetroPie team looked into this?

@Heightzx23
A new dev board shows up on kickstarter every other month and I have little interest in developing for a bunch of obscure boards and I'm sure @BuZz feels the same. The pi has been the board of choice from the beginning because of the software support the the pi foundation provides.
All the same though if any Debian based distro can be installed on a board RetroPie should more or less be able to work with it (though may require additional coding) and is already described on the wiki:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroPie-Ubuntu-15.10-x86-Flavor
Also there is another thing that's even more than 10 times the speed of a pi 3, it's called a pc ;)
Lakka provides lots of builds for more of the obscure boards and may be worth looking into. Not as configurable as RetroPie but should cover most things.
