Kodi won't work on my 1280x1024 monitor but emulators do.HELP
-
Hi Sorry to jump in on this post but I have been trying to get Kodi to work on my pi3 retropie image,I have it setup to an old HP monitor max resolution 1280x1024 via a HDMI to VGA adaptor all the emulators work fine but when I try to open kodi it has a white box moving round the screen set resolution to 1280x1024.
I did change the config.txt file to mode 2 and group 35.
Kodi does not seem to like it.
Is there a way to edit the kofi config to change to a resolution that will work.
This is my thrid day ,now pulling my hair out,I was able to get into kodi settings once and I changed the resolution to 1280x1024 by pressing a button on my gamepad when the white box comes on screen just before kodi is to start,but now I don't get the white box and have to sgut down the pie as it hangs with a blank sreen.I have uninstalled kodi and reinstalled a few times in optional package manager.I hope you find the time to help me with this problem.
Many Thanks.

@Freko you can try removing any existing Kodi configuration by removing
/home/pi/.kodi
and it might default to the current mode. -
Cheers I will try that tomorrow.
Thankyou for the reply.

@BuZz Hi again, what do I type to remove /home/pi/ .kodi
After removed should I just reinstall kodi in manage optional packages ?Cheers.

@Freko
rm
is the command to delete files. It works likedel
in DOS. Don't re-install Kodi, just restart it and it will create a fresh default .kodi file. -

@pjft
rmdir
will delete a directory, but only after it is empty. -
@pjft
rm -rf
can delete a directory and everything under it (be careful with this command). -

Got it sorted ,I plugged the raspberry pi3 into my HD TV and the screen was able the handle the default 1920x1080 resolution.Then went into Kodi settings and set the resolution to the nearest to 1280x1024 which was 1280x720.
Another leason learned on the Pi.Thanks guys for all your help and support.
